![]() ![]() ![]() Unfortunately the line of sight of the enemies is quite ridiculous, and you can literally stand before an enemy without being detected (provided it's a tall enemy like a Gekko, or simply a Cyborg that is temporarily looking to his left/right). The result of this project is a fun mission that focuses on the element that was sacrificed in the main game (the stealth aspect), and fans of sneaky gameplay will certainly enjoy this adventure. In this case there are only few good attacks that are always good in different situations, so more attacks would have probably been unnecessary. Truth be told, this was predictable and it also doesn't have a bad impact on the gameplay, since the larger skillsets of Raiden's (and to lower extents also Sam's) would fundamentally be reduced to the strongest attacks anyway. ![]() This somehow justifies the extremely limited skillset of this new character: his moves are more or less the same as the enemy LQ-84i of the main game (even less actually, since the "Heat Knives" are throwable items of very esigue effect - thus becoming soon an obsolete attack -, and the "jump" and "grab" attacks are not available). Moreover, as anticipated, the actual fighting in this DLC is not encouraged, and there is even a new battle bonus ("No Alert Clear") for killing enemies with the "Hunt Kill", the "Ninja Kill" for the mecha-doggy. The enemies AI has been dumbed down again, the enemies are as "slow" as they were with Raiden. Don't expect the grade of difficulty found in Jetstream though: Blade Wolf is the easiest content released under the brand of Metal Gear Rising. Like in the Jetstream DLC, also in this DLC there won't be Codec calls (the plot is enjoyable on its own as usual though), and the five new VR Missions are tactical/stealth fights in which you'll be able to test and enjoy the controls of Blade Wolf. There is one new boss (the only one actually), whose battle theme is (finally featured in-game) "Hot Wind Blowing" his design isn't very exciting though, and the epicness and intensity of the story boss fights is just remotely attempted. This extra story mission will last approximately an hour for a normal playthrough about two hours if you're going to explore the areas which, although mostly recycled from the original story missions, will be almost completely new thanks to the new platforming which pretty much redesigns them again. The Ranger Thunder is no longer offered on the price list, but two new special editions have been introduced: the Stormtrak is based on the top-spec Wildtrak trim and includes exclusive colours and kit, while the Wolftrak is a mid-spec model orientated more towards rugged, off-road use.Priced at 7$ (560 MSP), the Blade Wolf DLC will let you experience a stealth-oriented adventure that has little in common with the experience provided in the main game and the Jetstream DLC. Wildtrak and Raptor specs are available on Double Cab versions only. Raptor tweaks include a 210bhp version of the Ranger’s 2.0-litre EcoBoost diesel engine, a 10-speed automatic transmission, aggressive exterior styling and suspension tuned for a more involving drive. The Wildtrak is loaded with luxury kit, while the Raptor is a full-fat, bells-and-whistles ‘statement spec’ with added performance and desert racer-inspired upgrades to the body and suspension. The Regular Cab only comes in XL trim, but you can get the Super Cab in XLT and Limited trim too. There are five model grades across the Double Cab line up, starting with the entry-level XL, and rising through XLT, Limited, Wildtrak and Raptor variants. The Super Cab is extended with a single rear-hinged side door and occasional rear seats, but it’s the Double Cab with four regular doors and a full five-seater cabin that has the broadest appeal. Regular Cab, Super Cab and Double Cab variants form the basis of the model line-up, with the former offering the longest load bed and - with only two seats - limited opportunity for use outside work.
